Eileen Woodford
December 22, 1930 – April 4,2024
Passed peacefully away at her home in Harbour Main on Thursday, April 4, 2024 surrounded by her loving family, Eileen Woodford (nee Whelan) aged 93 years. Predeceased by her husband and best friend Pat in 2010 parents, Arthur and Josephine (Wall), her siblings: Mercedes (Don Phelps), Monica Pace and Joan (Bill Murphy) and also predeceased by dad’s siblings and spouses. Leaving to mourn are her children: Paul (Sharon), Phyllis, Debbie (Steven Paulovics) and Patricia (Tony Wood). Left with precious memories are her grandchildren: Lisa (Ray Joy), Paul (Lisa Cole) and Jennifer (Steven Hawco), great grandchildren: Mitchell, Morgan, Abigail, Erica, Mackenzie, Neal and Ryder. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Dorothy (Bill Wade, deceased), Patricia (Boyd Wheeler) and Jerome Whelan and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Our mom treasured her family and put her heart and soul in to raising her children. She loved gardening and spent countless hours with Pat tending their flowers, strawberries and rhubarb plants. She loved reading, cooking, baking and playing cards. She especially enjoyed road trips with Dad during the summer months. Mom was witty, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She had faith in God and trusted in him to give her the strength to handle whatever life sent her way. We are grateful to Dr. Andrew Hutton, her family doctor, for his compassion and care. We would also like to thank Dr. Roger Butler and his team at the Provincial Home Dementia Care Program for their guidance and assistance over the past couple of years. We owe a debt of gratitude to mom’s homecare workers. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Mom received outstanding care and compassion from each and every one of you and for this we will be forever grateful. Thank you to family friend Eleanor Furey for your many acts of kindness. You were always there for us and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks as well to Fr. Barker for your many visits. We truly appreciate your kindness. It meant so much to our mom.
