It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, as she was welcomed by the angels at the age of 92. Agnes passed peacefully away on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital with her family by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, daughter, Mary, sister, Emily, brothers: Vince, Albert and Ernest, special son-in-law, Tommy Drohan and her parents; John and Mary (nee Sutton) Linehan.
Leaving to mourn are her beloved family: Gordon (Ann), Eleanor, Judy (Sandy), Emma (Joe), Albert (Beth), Derm (Edie), John (Linda), Marjorie (Paul), Barb (Ron), Gerard (Margie), Doreen (Donnie), Shawn (Kristyna), 25 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends
Affectionately known and loved by everyone as “Aggie”, she was the oldest woman in Colinet. Aggie was a storyteller right to the end, she loved to sing, laugh and music was such a source of joy. She had strong faith and belief in God, it was a constant source of comfort and guidance and offered her strength and peace in her final moments.
Our family can take comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched. Her unwavering faith, her belief in the power of positivity, boundless love and her dedication to giving back to others will always be remembered.
A sincere thank you to everyone who visited, called, and prayed for her. To the staff of 6 east at St. Clare’s Hospital, please know it meant so much to her and to us as a family.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Fergus and Fred Heritage Centre, Main Road, Colinet on Wednesday, June 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Fergus and Fred Heritage Centre, Main Road, Colinet on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with inurnment to follow at Our Lady Of Grace Cemetery, Colinet.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Agnes’s memory may be made to the Fergus and Fred Heritage Centre, Box 105, Main Road, Colinet, NL, A0B 1M0 or EMT to clheritagesociety@gmail.com.
