Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Center in Harbour Breton on Monday, June 17, 2024, Martha Lillian Hickey, age 83, of Harbour Breton, NL.
Martha leaves to mourn her loving family: daughters, Melinda Langdon (Selwyn), Patricia Spencer (Carl), Elaine Hickey (Kevin), all at Harbour Breton, and Helen Snook (Chad) at C.B.S.; sons, Derrick (Alasie) at Kuujjuag, Quebec, Gilbert (Grace) at Harbour Breton, Wayne (Gertie) at Marystown, David (Brenda) at Harbour Breton, Barry (Naomi) at Alberta and Mervin (Joy) at St. John’s; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sisters, Mary Helen Stacey at St. John’s and Gertie Hickey (Thomas) at Harbour Breton; special sister in law, Mary Jackman (Cliff) at Harbour Breton; special neighbors, Gus and Judy Hickey at Harbour Breton; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Martha was predeceased by her husband, James Hickey; sister, Marjorie Johnston; brothers, Thomas Whittle, John Whittle, Dave Whittle, Peter Whittle and Reginald Whittle; parents, Edward and Elizabeth Whittle.
Visitation will be held at Spencer’s Funeral Home at Harbour Breton on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and on Wednesday, June 19 from 2-4pm and from 7-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Joseph’s Church at Harbour Breton on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:30am with Father Tom Duffanais officiating. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Breton.
