It is with heartfelt sadness we, the family of Ernest Arthur Herritt of Sandyville (Dawson’s Cove), announce his passing on November 23rd, 2024 at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre at Harbour Breton, at the marvellous age of 96 years.
Ernest was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Florence Herritt; brother, William; sister, Thelma; sister-in-law, Betty; brother in law, Ray Osmond; and daughter in law, Jeanette.
Ernest leaves to mourn with wonderful memories and a lifetime of love and devotion his loving wife of 73 years, Madeline. Also, feeling his loss are his children, Barbara (Everett) at McCallum, Anita (Frank) at Lower Sackville, NS, Lloyd (Donna) at St. John’s, Joslyn (Wayne) at Paradise, John (Bernice) at Harbour Breton and Glenn at Sandyville; grandchildren, Tanya, Melissa, Deon, Christopher, Christa, April, Brent, Brittany, Adam and Ashley; great grandchildren, Austin, Aaron, Simone, Corey, Noah, Cody and Owen; great, great grandchildren, Ander, Finn, Pearson and Adelaide; great, great, great grandchild, Levi; sister, Marion at Port aux Basques; as well as a circle of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to send a sincere thank you to Paula Spencer CHN, his home care workers, Donna and Linda, the registered nurses and other staff at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Center for their compassion, warmth and tender care.
Visitations will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 and at St. Saviour’s Church- The Haven Room at Hermitage from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 at 2:00pm at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church at Hermitage with Rev. Jonathan Durdle officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Sandyville.
