It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Joseph Skinner on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024 at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre, age 78 years, of Harbour Breton.
Donald leaves to mourn his loving family: sons, Todd (Jennifer) at Paradise, Mark (Roxanne) at Harbour Breton and Colin (Kim) at Bryant’s Cove; grandchildren, Adam, Nikita (Desmond), Michael (Sarah), Nicholas, Cameron, Sarah, Jackson and Samantha; step grandson, Bradley John at Conne River; special friend, Rosemary John and the John family all at Conne River; brothers, Cecil Skinner (Beverly), Gerald Skinner (Monie) and Roy Skinner all at Harbour Breton; sisters, Ethel Mary Skinner at Grand Falls-Windsor and Anne (Larry Bungay) at Harbour Breton; sisters in law, Mona Sheppard at Ontario, Marilyn Skinner at Harbour Breton and Maude Skinner at Burin; brothers in law, Jim Sheppard at Ontario and Aaron Sheppard (Christine) at Eastern Passage, NS; as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Donald was predeceased by his wife, Vera; brothers, Samuel Skinner and Albert Skinner; parents, Richard and Pearl Skinner; parents in law, Clayton and Sarah Sheppard, and Abner Mullins; step granddaughter, Brittany John.
Visitations will take place at Spencer’s Funeral Home, Harbour Breton on Thursday, November 28, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 2:00pm at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at Harbour Breton with Fr. Tom Duffenais officiating.
