Edna Irene Burt Obituary
Passed peacefully away on June 26, 2024 at the Eastern Health Science Centre. Edna was 65 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband Larry Burt; mother Rhoda McGrath; sister Jamie McGrath; grandson Tyrone Whiteman; brother-in-law Tony Burt; mother and father-in-law Annie and Alvin Roberts. Leaving to mourn are her sons Percy Whiteman; Michael (Daisy) Whiteman; William Whiteman; sisters Debbie McGrath and Cathy McGrath; her one granddaughter Sarah Whiteman; Sister-in-law Cindy Roberts; Alvin Jr. (Flossie Blake) Roberts; Corey Roberts; Joy Woolridge and many other family and friends. Edna was born in Toronto, Ontario where she had her three sons. Later meeting her husband Larry, they lived in Toronto for several years before moving home to their family in Newfoundland, where they raised their kids for 30 years. Edna started working in homecare when she moved home. She worked with Verdon Roberts and Marjorie Blake before she went back to complete her schooling. Once she completed her schooling she began working with Golden Years Estate, where she worked for 20 years. She just retired one year ago. She loved her granddaughter Sarah so much; she was always so proud of her. Edna loved her cat, Wiggles. She will be missed dearly.
