Ralph Douglas, Sr.
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ralph Douglas, Sr. of Grand Bank announces his passing. Ralph passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 87.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife May of 65 years; daughters, Betty Clancey (Jeff), Barbara Barnes (Craig), Michelle Hoddinott (John); daughter in-law, Susan Douglas; grandchildren, Andrew Barnes, Nicole Clark (Justin), Matthew Barnes (Jill); his great grandchildren whom he loved to the moon and back, Liam Barnes, Violet Barnes and Allison Clark…”WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU POP DOUGIE”; brothers in-law, Lloyd Downey (Rosalind), Wayne Downey (Ruby); sisters in-law, Marina Clements (Harry), Marilyn Downey; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ralph was predeceased by son, Ralph Douglas Jr; parents, Issac & Elizabeth (Lizzie) Douglas; parents in-law, Philip & Minnie Downey; sister, Sarah Jane Hillier (Abe); brother, Garfield Douglas (Eleanor); sisters in-law, Mary Price (Don), Sarah (Sally) Fizzard (Joseph), Jessie Hanrahan (John Pad), Belinda Cox; brother in-law, Arthur Downey.
The Douglas Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Monday, November 6th, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tuesday, November 7th, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Funeral service will take place at Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank, NL A0E 1W0 on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank.
No flowers by request of the family.
