It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Mary Theresa Hodge of Lawn announce her passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 67. Mary passed peacefully away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at U.S Memorial Health Center, St. Lawrence, with family by her side.
Leaving to mourn with many years of happy memories, her husband, William Mavin of Fortune; daughters, Arnessa (Brent) and Dawn (Terry); son, Bradley (Kerry); grandchildren, Arnold (AJ) Hodge, Tapanga, Bailey, Twyla and Carleigh King, Brayden and Ryder Mavin, Cole and Brooke Brown; brothers, Paul Lambe, Robert Lambe (Sharon) and Harve Lambe; sisters, Anne and Esther Lambe; brother-in-law, James Tarrant; sisters-in-law, Josephine Lambe and Thelma Lambe; nieces, Cecilia and Michelle who were both like daughters to her; plus a large circle of family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; son, Paul; parents, Isaac & Annie Lambe; parents-in-law, Thomas & Lousia Hodge; siblings, Edith Tarrant, Cecil Lambe (Mary), George Lambe, Patrick Lambe (Mary), Isaac Lambe (Sonny), Louise Hillier (Isaac), Jerome Lambe, baby sister, Laura Mary and baby brother, Jerome D Lambe; very special niece, Cora Lee Lambe, son-in-law, Jerry King; and brother-in-law, Don Mavin.
During her illness, Mary’s days were made a little brighter with visits from people who were very special to her. Thank you Sharon, Rita, and Martha for bringing her so many moments of love and laughter.
Mary’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of the US Memorial palliative unit for all of their compassion, and a very special thank you to the community nurse, Wendy for all her care and support.
In honoring her final wishes, cremation will take place. A catholic burial service will be held at a later date.
In Mary’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations made to the family will be greatly appreciated.
