Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of Thomas Hiram Bennett announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, July 4th,2024 at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook at the age of 71 years, surrounded by his family.
He leaves to mourn with many wonderful memories his wife Juanita Bennett: children; Tina (Noel), Jodie (Darren) and Gerard (Dixie). Grandchildren; Diana (Jay), Danielle (Lance), Alex, Noah, Emily, Chloe, Cassie, Kaitlyn and Liam. Great grandchildren; Gracie, Thea and Kobe. Siblings; Rhoda, Sharon, Jean, Iris (Seymour, Maisie (Glen), Bertha (Eddie), Mary (Larry), Gail (Wilfred), Rufus (Joyce), Dennis (Sandra), Peter (Patsy), Glen (Sherry) and Anthony (Angie). Mother-in-law Margaret Bennett. Brothers and sisters-in-law; Max (Ina), Raymond (Ann), Harry (Susan), Winston (Iris), Jeffrey (Darlene), Marina (Glenn), Darlene (Hillyard), Helen (Pat), Lloyd Bennett, Kevin House and Seymour Bennett. His special friend Willis Payne. Also leaving to mourn are many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents Edward Garfield and Mary Martha Bennett. Brothers; Llewelyn, Anthony, Wilfred and Myles. Sisters; Violet Bennett and Madonna Bennett. Brothers-in-law; Gary Ellsworth and Robert Bennett. Sisters-in-law; Nora Bennett and Clodie Bennett. Father-in-law Gordon Bennett. Niece Angie Reid, nephew Nicholas Bennett and great nephew Joey Gilley.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Dr’s, nurses and staff at the Bonne Bay Health Centre and also a special thank you to Dr. Grant and nurse Nathan Holloway at Western Memorial Hospital. Also special thanks to the dr’s and nurses at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit, in Corner Brook.
Visitation will be held at the Roman Catholic Church in St. Paul’s on Sunday, July 7th,2024 from 7-9 pm and continuing on Monday, July 8th,2024 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Where also the funeral service is being held on Tuesday, July 9th,2024 at 2 pm with Father Anthony officiating. Interment will follow at the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Paul’s.
