It is with great sadness that the family of Ruby Janet Reid announce her passing on Friday, June 28th,2024 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 88 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her five children; Carl (Mireya) Reid, Earl (Helen) Reid, Wanda (Dennis) Daly, Fred Reid and Noel Reid. Her wonderful grandchildren; Mark Reid, Mandy Reid, Michael Daly, Terry Daly, Destiny Daly and Wendy Hayden. Her precious great grandchildren; William Bennett, Evan Bennett, Ryan Bennett, Arlen Daly and Anna Hayden.
Also leaving to mourn are her loving sisters; Lucy Couch, Margaret Macdonald, Valene (Eric) King, Linda (Paul) Antle. Brothers; Don (Betty) Ball, Wayne (Susan) Ball. In laws; Clarence (Pauline) Reid, Eric (Minette) Reid, Clayton (Sylvia) Reid, Shirley Macdonald, Doris (Don) White, Herb (Michelle) Reid and Walt Watkins. Ruby will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Ruby was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Theodore Reid, her parents Annie and Donald Ball. Mother and father-in-law Elsie and Herb Reid, baby brother Stratton, brother Melvin (Mae) Ball, sister Cecilia (Max) Williams, sister Jessie (Doug) Oates, brother-in-law Dr. D D Macdonald, brother-in-law Louie Macdonald, sister-in-law Vera Reid and sister-in-law Fannie Watkins.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 2nd,2024 from the hours of 2-4 pm and continuing at 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church, Deer Lake on Wednesday, July 3rd,2024 at 2 pm with Rev. Petten officiating.
Donations in Ruby’s memory can be made to the Kids Eat Smart program at Ellwood Elementary School in Deer Lake.
