It is with heavy hearts the family of Dora Caines announce her passing on Thursday, June 27th,2024 at the Bonne Bay Health Center, Norris Point at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with many wonderful memories are her husband of 61 years Aubrey Caines; Children: Leo Caines ( Phyllis Bennett), Jackie Payne (Eugene Gould) and Sean Caines (Lillian Caines). Grandchildren; Shelia Payne (Travis Gough), Brandon Caines (Nikki O’Reilly), Randy Caines (Rhianna Caines), Heather Caines ( Mitchell Motty), Kristy House (Kendrick House). Great grandchildren; Ares Gough, Athena Gough, Apollo Gough, Katie House, Amelia Motty and Kai Motty. Son-in-law Dave Payne. Siblings; Louise Rumbolt (Lloyd Bennett), Mabel Critch, Beatrice Bennett (Willis) and Wayne Bennett. Sisters-in-law; Viola Payne, Diana Payne, Rosie Warren, Loretta Payne and brother-in-law Gerald Caines. Also leaving to mourn are many other nieces, nephews other extended family and friends.
Dora was predeceased by her parents Alma & Charles Bennett, grandson Ryan Caines: Siblings; Mary Bennett, Annie Bennett, Leo Bennett and Edmund Bennett. Parents-in-law Lucy & Selby Caines. Brothers-in-law; Austin Payne, Walter Rumbolt, Greavett Payne, Simeon Critch, Ronnie Swimm, Vandor Caines and sisters-in-law Myrtle Caines, Amy Chapella and Judy Heath.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Dr.’s, nurses and staff at the Bonne Bay Health Centre for the exceptional care, kindness and compassion given to Dora during her stay there.
Visitation will take place at her family residence in Cow Head on Saturday, June 29th,2024 beginning at 1 pm and continuing on Sunday, June 30th,2024. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1st, 2024 at 2 pm at The Lady of The Coast Roman Catholic Church with Father Anthony officiating. Interment will follow at the family plot.
