September 6, 1937 – December 16, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Olive Louise Banfield at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on December 16, 2024 at the age of 87 years.
She leaves to mourn her children: Sandra Wight, Susan (Keith) Rowsell, Lynn Fillatre, Ollie Higdon, Joyce (Andy) Pittman, Debbie (Chris) Laney, Rhonda (Paul) White, Max Banfield, Gary (Lori) Banfield, Alvin (Carol) Banfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her brother Freeman (Shirley) Pafford, her sister Shirley Earle, many other relatives and special friends.
Olive was predeceased by her parents Martha & Alfred; her husband Donald Banfield; children: Eva Campbell, Derek Banfield; grandson Bailey White; siblings Roxina, Evelyn, Lydia, Eileen, Margaret, Reginald, Norman, Derrick, Robert.
Nanny, you were one of the most special people in all our lives. You had the kind of glow about you that everyone wanted to be around you, and everyone felt a little lighter after their time with you. May you rest easy knowing that your nonjudgmental, compassionate and fun spirt will live on through all the hearts and souls that were lucky enough to be a part of your life. You will be missed by all of us greatly and we will be happy to know that you’re watching over us. I love you so much. Rest in peace.
Visitation Friday, December 20, 2024, 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. @ Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing. Church Service Saturday, December 21, 2024 @ 11:00 a.m. from the All-Saints Anglican Church, Stephenville Crossing with Rev. Nicole Critch officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Stephenville Crossing.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing, NL.
