August 5, 1938 – November 10, 2023
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie Myra Noble (nee Cooper) on November 10, 2023 at the Western Health Palliative Care unit at age 85.
Predeceased by her husband Frank, her parents Myra & Lloyd Cooper and her sister Verna Hounsell, she leaves to mourn her children Sharon (Jan), Robert (Ewen) and David (Kim), sister Joy Barron (Bill), brother-in-law Sol Hounsell, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, special friends Darlene & Davis Wheeler and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Marjorie was born, raised and married in Corner Brook and lived in Pasadena for a number of years, eventually returning to Corner Brook. She spent most of her working years with Atlantic School Studios.
A devoted member of Westside Tabernacle, she was involved with the Women’s Missionary Council and the Crusaders, taught Sunday School, attended weekly Bible Studies, volunteered at Vocational Bible School and was a member of the 50 Plus Club.
Marjorie enjoyed her many walks, especially through Margaret Bowater Park and her occasional drive to Pound Cove and St. John’s to visit her sisters. She was a prolific gardener and ‘handyman’ with the tools for any job. She especially liked the Christmas season; the decorating, meals with friends, and volunteering at the annual church Christmas Day community dinner.
She will be missed by the many people who knew her.
Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday, November 13 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m. from Westside Tabernacle, Elizabeth Street with Pastor Jeremy Simms officiating and Pastor Terry Grimes and Pastor Calvin Andrews. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Western Palliative Care Unit Guardian Angel Program.
