Margaret Florence Major
May 1, 1928 – February 20, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that the family of late Margaret Florence Major announce her passing on February 20, 2024, at the age of 95 years.
She leaves to mourn, her son Gerald (Brenda); daughters Viola (Gary), and Betty-Lou; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a large circle of family and friends.
Margaret lived a healthy, long, and meaningful life. She fostered many children, had a love for knitting, sewing, and reading. She took pride in her flower gardens, which she spent endless hours perfecting. Her faith in God played a huge part in her life and will always be remembered.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents William and Deborah Maynard; husband Martin; daughters Louise and Rosemary; son Colin; grandson Billy; brothers Stanley, Sidney, Angus, and Gordon; sisters Frances, Gertie, Mary, and Edith.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Deer Lake Manor, where she was a resident for the past 13 years. Thank you to the staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for the great care that she received during her final days.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Norris Point on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from the hours of 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm, where the funeral service will take place on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 2 pm with Rev.
