Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Kevin Knee announce his passing at the Corner Brook Palliative Care unit on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the age of 68 years.
Kevin was born in Corner Brook, NL and after finishing high school and vocational school he worked a few years with Bowaters then he travelled across the country to Alberta and British Columbia. After working several years in BC, he returned to Corner Brook and worked with B & B Sales and then for many years with Harvey & Company. Over the last 20+ years he spent time with his beloved cat, Jack, and Kevin always gave him whatever he needed. Kevin was known as the family historian and could answer any question about family members of years ago.
Kevin’s health deteriorated over the past 4 years due to multiple sclerosis, diabetes and dementia. The family would like to thank staff at the Dementia Care Bungalows for the care, concern and support they provided to Kevin. Since the end of June, Kevin has spent time in Western Memorial Hospital and the Palliative Care unit, and the family greatly appreciates the care and support received in these units.
Kevin leaves to mourn his sisters and brothers: Dorothy Myers, Hawthorne, Nevada; Pauline(Clarence) Reid, Reidville; Sandra Hallett, St. John’s; Derek(Cathy), Thunder Bay, Ontario; Terrance Keith, Corner Brook; Gary, Gooderham, Ontario; Glen(Angie), Corner Brook; nieces/nephews Randy, Pam, Paula, Paul, Susan, Tracy, Heather, Natalie, Andrew, Jennifer, Hilary, Nicole, Ryan; 10 great nieces/nephews; 4 great-great nieces/nephews plus other relatives and close friends. He really enjoyed the phone calls from his buddy Brian Young in BC.
Kevin was predeceased by parents Elizabeth and John Knee; brother George; brothers-in-law Gary Myers and David Hallett and his fur family Jack.
At his request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation for family and close friends taking place on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 at 1:30 PM in the Country Haven Chapel, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM with the Very Rev. Catherine Short officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the local Multiple Sclerosis or Diabetes organizations in Kevin’s memory.
