Frances White
Flat Bay
Aug. 11, 1945 – Aug. 30, 2024
It is with great love and sadness that the family of Frances White announce her passing at Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre on August 30, 2024.
Forever the teacher, Frances moved to Flat Bay in 1962 from her small hometown in Butlerville, on the east coast of Newfoundland where she taught the children of Flat Bay and met the love of her life, Calvin. Together they raised a family of six kids: Judy, Cal (Arlene), Nelson (Barb), Dinnetia (Dean), Gregg (Cindy) and Gordon. Which begot grandchildren: Dave, Chrissy, Deann, Dianisia, Nick, Chelsea, and Cody and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Tyrone, Christopher, Shayna-Rae, Callie, Piper, Blakley, Beau, Harper, Sullivan and Shelby.
Frances was a gifted seamstress, whose talent and attention to detail was matched only by her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every wedding or graduation that occurred in our family consisted of a dress made by her loving hand.
Mom joyously meets her family gone before her parents – Loretta and Patrick Butler, and sister Rosella. Though her health waned in her final year, the staff at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre became an extended family for her, and a source of love and compassion which Mom and the entire family appreciated greatly.
Funeral services will be held at St. Anne’s in Flat Bay, Tues., Sept. 3 at 10:00 a.m.
Visitation Mon, Sept. 2 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at St Anne’s church in Flat Bay.
Fr Dante is confirmed for prayers on Mon. Sept 2 at 7 p.m. at St. Anne’s church, Flat Bay.
Love you mom
