It is with great sadness that the family of the late Douglas Edwin Toope announce his passing on July 15th, 2024 at WMRH, Corner Brook, NL in his 87th year.
Leaving to mourn with great sadness, his wife of 63 years Olive Toope (Perrett); sons: Clifford (Geraldine), Robert; daughter Darlene; grandsons: Stephen, Adam, Kyle, Patrick; granddaughters: Robyn, Jennifer; great grandchildren: Marcus, Emily, Greyson; brothers-in-law: Bill (Mary Jo), John (Dorothy), George (Pat), Eric (Lana); sisters-in-law: Doris, Joyce (Paul), Chris (Lloyd), Joyce, Lida, Josephine, As well Douglas will be fondly remembered by a large number of extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Maryann Toope; parents-in-law Thomas and Bessie Perrett; brothers: Henry, Stanley, Eli (Edith), Clifford, Walter; sisters: Jane (Bob), Lizzy (Jack), Anita (Roland), Grace (Gerald), Stella (Gerry); brothers-in-law: Donald Perrett, Bernard Perrett, Tom Perrett, Ralph Perrett, Eric Parsons; sister- in- law Joan (Ray) Butt.

In keeping with Douglas’s wish, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue Thursday July 18th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 -9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be Friday July 19th at 11:00 am with Rev. Mickton officiating, at Fillatre Funeral Home’s Chapel 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, burial will follow at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Cemetery, Curling Street. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
