Obituary
The family of the late David “Bud” Quigley would like to announce his peaceful passing on Palliative Care at the Western Long-Term Care on Saturday, April 6th. 2024. Leaving to mourn with loving memories is his Beloved Wife Bernice of 60 years. Daughter who cared for him until the very end, Carolann (Roger) and son Roy (Penney). His adored granddaughters: Deidre (Stephen), Erica (Wayne) Great-grandchildren: Kayden (His favorite little buddy in the world) and Scarlett (his little pretty jaws). Also leaving to mourn with their whole hearts are his siblings: Bern (Susan), Harold “Junior” (Brenda), Eileen, Brenda, Linda, Judy (Harold). He also had siblings that were not blood but picked by choice: Brother in laws Ned, Charles, Fred, Jeff, Jim, Randy, Roy “Bim”, Terry “Jers”, Larry, Selwin “Mooch” and Sister in Law Viola “Doddy”. He will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and a large number of friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Alice Quigley, Sisters: Lorraine, Ann Marie. Daughter in law: Deloris “Lori” Quigley, Parent in laws: Edward and Elizabeth Duhart, In law siblings: Wallace Taylor, Danny Duhart, Tom Christopher, lan Ash and Lorne Hackett. David “Bud” was a dedicated employee with the Western Memorial Regional Hospital and a very strong, proud CUPE Local 488 union member for 36 years. He also enjoyed being apart of the Lions Club, Summerside Men’s Dart league, Knights of Columbus and a very loyal NDP supporter. David “Bud” has rooted for many in the sports world but most of all is his favorite team the Montreal Canadians. The family would like to extend their extreme thanks to Dr. Wadhwa (Family Doctor), Dr. Lafferty (Palliative Care Doctor), Dr. Chaulk and the staff of the Palliative Care for their unwavering care provided to our special angel.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are welcome to visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday, April 9″ from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 10th at 10 a.m. at the All Hallows Roman Catholic Church Humber Road officiated by Father Terry. Interment will follow at Mr. Patricia Cemetery. As expression of sympathy, Donations may be made to the Summerside Lions Club or Knights of Columbus.
