Kitt, as she was so fondly known, was born and raised in Buchans, NL and later moved to Corner Brook where she began her career and raised her family. It was in Corner Brook where she met more lifelong friends, including many through her travels with her husband, Angus, on the road for hockey. Kitt loved socializing with friends and was often known as the life of the party. Her quick wit and sense of humour will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege to know her.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and professional care. Special thanks to Dr. Kate Lafferty, Dr. Amanda Park, Dr. Joy McCarthy, Dr. Christopher Healey, and the many wonderful nurses and staff of the Cancer Care Clinic. To the Community Health nurses who provided exceptional care and comfort to Mom over the past year, especially Tammy Benoite and Ealaina Murrin, who always went above and beyond and became such a dear friend to Catherine. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nagy Bolous for his unwavering love and support to Mom throughout her journey. Special thank you to her biggest supporter, Diane Thistle, who stood by Catherine through her 29-year battle. To the many friends and family members who called, messaged, and visited – your kind thoughts and expressions of sympathy will never be forgotten, and we are grateful for your love and support.
