It is with profound and overwhelming sadness that the family of the late Bruce F. Moores announce his sudden passing early Wednesday morning, November 20, 2024 , after a brief illness ,at St Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s, Nl. Bruce was 61 years of age.
Bruce was the devoted husband of Dorothy G. Moores(nee.Seymour);loving Dad of Andy Moores and Matty Lampe ( Moores), an adoring “Dad in care” of Maria Lampe, Shaka Gregoire Pinette, Noah Gregoire Pinette, Juliette (Queenie) Vachon Pinette and Jacob Gregoire Pinette Tshakapesh.
Loving brother of Gertie, Cliff (Josie), Wes (Marg), Cal (Arlene),Barb (Frank), Lydia (Bill) . Sister- in-law Loretta and. Brothers- in -law David (Ina)Seymour and Robert (Patti) Seymour as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his Mother and Father, Clifford and Greta Moores, brothers Harvey and Robert Moores, loving son Matty Lampe Moores and special daughter Maria Lampe
Bruce was first and foremost a family man. The children were his greatest treasures, and he always placed their needs at top priority, whether it be attending appointments, learning new skills, reading to them or simply spending quality time with them… Daddy Bruce was a constant in their lives.
Bruce was forever the caring and cherished husband throughout his and Dorothy’s 34 years of marriage. Their relationship was one of teamwork, friendship and genuine love and respect for each other. Everything was done together, from their commitment to children and family, to cooking and baking together, to enjoying a brisk hike in nature. They did so with genuine enthusiasm and purpose. They were indeed soulmates.
Bruce too was a man of many talents, an avid reader, nature lover, wildlife enthusiast, skilled angler and just this past summer a patient gardener, who had already had his garden all planned out for next year’s growing season.
He was a loyal son of Red Bay and indeed all of Labrador in general he used to say “Our greatest and most important resource is our peoples and their culture and heritage.” He had great respect for all.
He was a loyal employee who loved his job and work family at C&T Enterprises. He always spoke highly of Mr. Gaius Trimm, the office staff and those working in the field. He had tremendous respect for everyone.

The Celebration of Life Service will take place at the United Church in Red Bay, on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm
Interment of ashes to follow at the United Church Cemetery in Red Bay.
