Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bessie Irene Park announce her passing on Monday, June 10th, 2024 at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her sons: Verdon (Dorothy) of Gillams, Joshua (Mary), Ivor (Mavis), Bruce (Maisie), Howard, and Lee (Kelly), all of Cox’s Cove; her daughters: Viola (Ward) of Cox’s Cove, Vernette of Gillams, and Michele (George) of Cox’s Cove; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Pearl Park of Cox’s Cove, and Lori Crane of Irishtown; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Bessie is predeceased by her husband, Howard Park (2005); her parents: Nathaniel and Francis Crane; parents-in-law: Simon and Amy Park; siblings: Melinda (Ralph), William (Beatrice), George (Ada), Hilliard, Ludrick (Theresa), and Velma (Joseph).
There will be a visitation taking place on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 at the St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove, from the hours of 7-9 PM, and on Wednesday June 12th, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place at the St. Nicholas Anglican Church on Thursday, June 13th, 2024 at 2 PM with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Bessie’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
