Alice Young
October 13, 1933 – November 30,2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Alice Young at the age of 91.
Predeceased by her husband Ivan Young, daughter Beverly (Denis) and grandson Ty Lucas and all her siblings.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Faron Young (Joyce) Barbara Young, Karen McGraw(Bertrand), Glenn Young, Lisa Lucas (Brian). Her grandchildren Megan Young, Allison Refugia (Michael and their son, Kohen), Shawn McGraw (Melysa and daughters Sofia and Vivienne) David McGraw ( Annik and children Tristan, Vince Ivan and Mila Joy) Michael Racine (Cathy, and son James) Simon Racine (Gabrielle and children Zoey and Jacob) Dakota Lucas and her children Ella and Hudson. Her sisters-in-law Barbara Kovich and Magdalen Cochrane.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in both the ER and Palliative Unit. Special thank you to her nurse practitioner Wendy Squire who was so compassionate to both mom and us during this difficult time. Thank you to her niece Linda and John for keeping us nourished with some great meals and those who visited for their comforting presence, especially Tamara Downey and Leah Whittle.
We would also like to acknowledge her home care workers Katherine McLean and Sandra Foote.
Mom’s greatest caregiver was her daughter Barb. We are so grateful that our sister was able to attend to all of her needs putting her own aside for so many years.
Per our mother’s wishes, cremation will take place and a viewing and service will be announced once family members planning to travel for the service have arrived.
In lieu of flowers please support a local charity like the Bay St. George Sick Children’s Foundation, St.George’s Fire Department Truck Fund etc
The Loss of a mother can never be replaced, but the love of a mother can never be lost.
