Born in Victoria in 1943, Wilf moved to Gander at a young age and lived on the “Army Side” of the airport. Wilf spent his life working and raising a family in and around Gander. Wilf left his legacy on the community through his work as a cement finisher over the next fifty years in many commercial buildings, residential houses and sidewalks. He was a giant of a man, a very welcoming individual and treated others as he would his own family. Wilf loved to get together with family and friends to have a sociable and singalong, where he often played the spoons as no one else could. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
