Michael Butler
March 22nd,1992-
December 28th ,2024
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Michael Newman Butler of Carmanville, aged 32 years.
Michael will be sadly missed by his parents, Suzanne and Kevin Butler, brother Paul (Maria), nephew Arthur, and Grandfather Donald Tulk. Michael will also be missed his large family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his Grandmother Kathleen Tulk, Grandparents Newman and Audrey Butler, Aunt Tammy Saunders, and Aunt Rennie Butler.
An avid woodsman, Michael had a love for nature and enjoyed spending time at his camp in Carmanville, or at his cabin in Anchor Brook. He was always happiest hunting, fishing, tinkering or taking long walks with his constant companion, Bud. When he wasn’t outside, he enjoyed being with friends and family and always lived in the moment. Always quick with a joke, you never knew what he was going to say next. He had a huge heart and would give you the shirt off his back without thinking about it twice.
Michael fought a courageous battle with Leukemia for a year and a half, which came to an end at the Health Sciences Center in St. John’s. During his lengthy stay, he made quite the impression on the medical staff with his positivity, strength, and humour.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the exemplary care Michael received from Dr David Jones and the nurses and doctors of 4 North A of the Health Sciences Centre, the Gander Cancer Clinic, and the staff of The Ottawa Hospital. We would also like to extend our thanks to our family, friends and community for all the love and support we received during Michael’s illness.
Family will be receiving friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home in Carmanville on Monday December 30,2024 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm and Tuesday Dec 31st ,2024 from 11am to 2pm. The funeral service will take place from the United Church, Carmanville on Wednesday January 1, 2025 at 2pm.
