Claude James Poirier
July 26, 1961 – May 26, 2024
It is with the deepest sorrow that the family of Claude Poirier announce his sudden passing on Sunday, May 26th, at his home in Gander.
Claude will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife Sue (Reid) and daughters Billie Jean (Travis Winter) and Stephanie (Jennifer Payne).
Claude has three beautiful grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Hailey, Heidi and Brody will be missing a wonderful Poppy throughout their lives.
Also left to mourn are brothers; Larry (Cathy), Alex (Karen), Pat (Wendy), sisters; Florence, Anne, and Mary (Wilbert); sister-in-law Donna (Ken) and mother-in-law Nellie.
Claude was predeceased by his parents Martin and Muriel Poirier, his brother Bill, his sister Kay and her husband Paul Williams, his nephew Chris, his brother-in-law Eugene Pike, sister-in-law Sharon Reid and father-in-law Allan Reid.
Also mourning the loss of Claude in their lives are a large number of nieces, nephews, other extended family and numerous friends.
Claude touched many people during his life. From family to co-workers, to absolute strangers. He loved getting together with family and friends to play a few tunes on his guitar or play some pool; to spend time at his cabin for relaxation and some great fishing; and to plant a garden in the spring. No matter what he was doing or who he was with, everyone was laughing
.
Claude lived life to the fullest and he lived the way he wanted to live; for all of that we can be very grateful.
Family will be accepting friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7-9. Funeral service will take place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Gander on Friday, May 31st at 2 pm. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
Casual attire…it’s what Claude would have wanted.
