Maxwell Arthur Rowsell Obituary
Passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 after a brief illness, Maxwell “Mac” Arthur Rowsell of Point Leamington, at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre. He was 84 years of age.
He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Minnie Rowsell of Point Leamington, and brother Cecil Warford. Left to mourn is his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Rowsell (Pittman), sons Christopher (Patty), Cory (Adrienne), Colin (Vanda) and Chad (Meg), daughter Michelle, brothers Smith (Florence) and John (Ruth), sisters Bessie (Bob) and Violet (Gordon), sister in law Shirley, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a large circle of family and friends.
Mac was a cornerstone in the community of Point Leamington. He was a dedicated teacher for 32 years, almost all at Point Leamington Central High. He was a proud member of the Point Leamington Fire Dept for 25 years. Mac loved being in the outdoors and cutting wood, and dearly loved planting his vegetable garden.
Visitation will be from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. A celebration of life will take place at St. Andrews United Church in Point Leamington on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 1PM. A reception in the United Church hall will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Andrews United Church of Point Leamington.
