Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude Susan Mills announces her passing from the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, NL aged 76 years.
Gertrude, or better known as Gertie, was born in Burlington on December 10th, 1947, and with the exception of a short stay in Springdale, NL, Burlington would be her home for 76 years.
Gertie was a very active lady who took great pride in her children, home, gardening, walking and of course her church. Gertie loved the outdoors and even as a child would be seen trying to skip her chores to climb the hills of Mills Cove. Later in life she would meet the man of her dreams, Edison Mills and was married on May 4th, 1966. Once married they would settle in Mills Cove and begin their family together.
Gertie remained active throughout her life and took great joy in sharing her passion for the outdoors with her husband Edison. You would always find the two of them together sharing the joys and challenges of life.
Gertie loved her family and enjoyed being a part of their lives. She would spend countless hours sharing her time between the “boys”, her daughter and her grandchildren.
Public visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Faith Pentecostal Church Burlington NL, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
