It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Donald Leander Burton announces his passing from the White Bay Retirement Living, Baie Verte, NL on September 10, 2024 aged 93 years.
Left with a lifetime of precious memories is his wife of 73 years, Eileen Burton; children, Melvin Burton (Daphne), Wayne Burton, Yvonne Shears (Dave), Barry Burton (Kathleen), Kevin Burton (Vera) and Morley Burton (Hilary); 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Edna Jacobs, Jessie Rice, Joyce (Stew) Osmond, Phyllis Eckford, Fred (Sue) Burton, Ron (Phoebe) Burton; sibings-in-law, Chris Collins, Ida Burton, Lorraine Burton, Myrtle Stuckless, Mary Dyer, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Donald is predeceased by his parents, William & Florence Burton; parents-in-law, Fredrick & Minnie Dyer; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) Burton; sisters, Gladys Collins; brothers, Maxwell Burton, Robert Burton; siblings-in-law, James (Marjorie) Dyer, Pearl (Alfred) Toms, Edgar (Bessie) Dyer, Alonzo Dyer, Roland Jacobs, Clifford Rice and Richard Stuckless.
Public visitation will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm.
The funeral service will take place from the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Baie Verte, NL, on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 2pm with Rev Nancy Hulan and Bishop John Organ. Interment will follow from the St. Paul’s Anglican cemetery, Baie Verte, NL.
