Phyllis Faulkner
June 20th, 1928- March 31st, 2024
Aged 95 yrs.
It’s with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all at Bonavista Hospital on Easter Sunday March 31/24. Predeceased by husband Heber John, daughter Diane, parents Sam and Ella White, brother Robert (affectionately referred to as Bobby); sisters Prudence Ryder and brother-in-law Sam, Mary Diamond and brother-in-law Calvin, brother Harold (Maisie).
Left to mourn with many fond and loving memories daughter Doreen Faulkner Pardy (Randy) along with grandson Curtis Pardy, granddaughter Colette Pardy Duffett (Peter) and great grandchildren Jaida, Jayke and Joey Duffett; also daughter Lynette Faulkner Piercey (Robert) along with grandchildren Mark Piercey (Laura) and great grandchildren Simon and David Piercey; also granddaughter Jennifer Piercey Fowlow (Harry) and her only surviving sibling Calvin White (Shirley) and a very large number of nieces, nephews and cousins along with a huge circle of friends.
Phyllis owned and operated a grocery corner store for 30 plus years in Bonavista where she made the acquaintance of many dear people and children who were all friends to her even after she retired. Being a faithful church attendee and member of several fraternal organizations also helped to enlarge her circle of friends whom she held very dear until the end of her life. She was blessed with excellent health and strength for most of her long life except the past month and for that she was eternally grateful. We also acknowledge and thank her home care workers, the staff of Bonavista Retirement Home, G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital and Bonavista Hospital for all the support, assistance and compassionate care she received during her time spent at home and in the aforementioned facilities.
All of her nieces and nephews were very special and dear to her down through the years but many times, due to both daughters living away from Bonavista, she would reiterate the words “I don’t know what I’d do without Peg,” referring to Peggy Sweetland who was always available and lent assistance whenever needed without hesitation.
Phyllis will be resting at Strathie’s Funeral Home in Bonavista with visitation available from 7:00-9:00pm Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm.
Funeral service will be from the Anglican Christ Church in Bonavista on Thursday, April 4 at 2:00pm with interment at the Anglican Christ Church Cemetery.
If so desired, donations in her memory may be made to Diabetes Canada NL Region.
GONE FROM OUR LIVES BUT FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.
