Simeon Marvin Reid “Little Marv”
May 21st, 1981- December 15th, 2023
The saying goes “big things come in small packages.” That was “Little Marv”, what he lacked in size he certainly made up for in heart and personality!
It is with the heaviest hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our precious loved one, Simeon Marvin Reid; fiancé, father, son, brother, uncle and cherished friend too many.
Marvin was predeceased by his grandparents Howard and Olive Reid, and Nelson and Isabel Warren, his father-in-law Dawson Martin, special Uncle “Big” Marvin Reid, many other aunts and uncles as well as several close friends.
Left with cherished memories are his parents Donna and Simeon Reid, his fiancé Terri Lynn Martin, daughters Alexis and Autumn, sister Ashley Stead (Steven), brothers Bradley Warren (Tanya) and Jason Warren (Krista), sister Shelly Noble (Paul). Nieces and nephews Joshua, Chloe, Steven, Olivia, Liam, Erica, Jaxon, Kara and Chelsea.
Marvin was born on May 21st, 1981 to Donna and Simeon Reid, little brother to Brad, Jason and Shelly and later to be big brother and protector to his baby sister Ashley.
Marvin grew up in Little Catalina where he formed many, many lasting friendships. His heart strayed outside his tiny community in September of 2012 when he met and fell in love with his fiancé Terri Lynn. Marvin became an instant father figure to Terri’s daughter Alexis right from the start of their relationship, the pair adored each other. Alexis was and forever will be more than just a bonus daughter to Marvin. The bond between the two only strengthened with the arrival of Marvin and Terri’s daughter Autumn in 2013. Marvin’s daughters were his soul purpose in life.
He left home for work many times over the years to provide them with the best life possible! Marvin would have given anything to make a living home in Newfoundland fishing side by side with his dad on the water. However, due to the downward turn in the fishery Marvin did not get this opportunity, instead his years of employment took him to several provinces working in different positions, he took whatever he could get to provide for his family.
It was the simple things that brought the most joy to Marvin’s life, a meal with the family, a fire with friends, a ride on quad, a day in the woods moose hunting with his dad; anything really that included being with family and friends.
There are some who bring a light so bright into the world that even after they have gone the light remains. Marvin’s light will shine bright in the hearts of his family and friends for eternity.
