Alma Fox
January 25th, 1932- December 8th, 2024
It is with deep and heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Alma Fox, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. She died peacefully at Golden Heights Manor in Bonavista, Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 92 years of age.
Alma is predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, James Fox; parents George and Clara (Abbott) Butt, and brother Jim Butt. Alma is survived by her son George (Cindy) and daughter Susan (Bill Wasylyshyn); four grandchildren Alexandra (Max Hill) Fox, Lauren Fox, Graham (Amber Hodder) Fox, and Ryan Wasylyshyn; and siblings Hughie Butt, Fannie Branton, Millicent Cox, and Shirley Butt; and a large circle of friends and extended family.
A very special thank you to close family friend Wilhemina Freake for everything she has done for Alma and her family over the years. Also to Marilyn Penney for her special care and friendship to Alma. Thank you to Shelley Paul for her care and compassion; to Shirley Ryan for taking Alma under her wing at the Retirement Home and becoming her “new best friend;” and to Jim and Alma Gough for always being just a phone call away whenever Alma needed something.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bonavista Retirement Home, Bonavista Hospital, and Golden Heights Manor for their excellent care and compassion.
Resting at Strathie’s Funeral Home, Bonavista. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm.
Funeral will take place on Wednesday, December 11 at 12 pm at Memorial United Church, Bonavista, with interment to follow at Memorial “Lookout” Cemetery.
