Mr. John “Jack” Maxwell Lynch of Upper Island Cove, passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, May 30, 2024 surrounded by his family. Mr. Lynch was 81 years old.

With pride he worked 37 years with Marine Atlantic/CN, where at that time he met and retained many life long friend’s, told fun stories, and made many great memories.
As a long term active member of Lodge McLeod No 27 Coleys Point & TC Shrine Club, Jack served both Organizations with honour & Pride.
Jack will always be remembered with a smile on his face and the kindest, loving, caring person you could meet, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his pride and joys his grandchildren, family & friends. Known as the family historian he could recite details, events & names of people in Upper Island Cove & area from years ago better than anyone we knew, a true story teller and one of the funniest people that you ever met! He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of meeting him.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Upper Island Cove on Saturday: 3-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M., Sunday: 10:30 A.M.-12 Noon, 2-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. and Monday: 10:30 A.M.-12 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made in his loving memory to the Shriners Patient transportation Funds.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 2 P.M. from St. Peter’s Anglican Church & Cemetery, Upper Island Cove.
