It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our brother, Allan Carew, who left us peacefully on September 11, 2024, at the age of 83.
Allan was predeceased by his father Louis, mother Kathleen, sister Gladys and brothers; Alfred and Norman.
He leaves to mourn his siblings: Arthur, Donald, Edward, Randolph, Carl, Louie, Terrance, Aloysuis, Kenneth, Doris, Christopher, Catherine, Maurice, Jacqueline and Gloria. As well as many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, in-laws, cousins & friends.
Allan found joy in the quiet beauty of the outdoors, whether hiking through the woods, gardening, planting trees or simply enjoying the stillness of the night under the stars. He was most at home in nature.
In his early years, he was a Federal Fisheries warden, toiling the waters from Cape Broyle to Biscay Bay and a provincial Forest Ranger in Cape Broyle & up the country. He also worked on a ranch in Cody, Wyoming and scaled trees in Squamish, B.C.
Allan was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His presence will be sorely missed but his spirit will live on in the rustle of leaves, the song of birds and the whisper of the wind. The memories we shared will forever be part of our lives.
A very special thank you to Eastern Health, Dr. Wee and the staff at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital for the care they provided during his stay.
Cremation has taken place, visitation and funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
