Frederick Keshane Obituary
Frederick Elmer Stanley Keshane, made heaven his home at the age of 65 years old on Monday, November 20, 2023, with his loving, beautiful wife at his side.
Fred was predeceased by his precious Mother Sylvia, brothers Darren, Joseph, Leonard Jr, adopted brother Derrick Bearchief, Sister Laura “Buffy”, Grandparents Sarah and Elmer Cote, Agnes and Henry Stanley Keshane, his “one and only son” Lyndon and his “dear precious grandson” RJ Stevenson.
Fred will be dearly missed by his wife Maureen of 26 years, his daughters, Leona (Adam), Rachel (Jaret), Leah (BJ) and all 21 of his grandchildren that he was so proud of and loved very much. His son-in-law’s meant so much to him. His Dad, Leonard Keshane Sr, Siblings, Freda (Alvin Sr), Frank (Vivian), Mike, Leon, Loretta (Darren), Lisa (Chuck), Billie, Amanda and Sister-in-law, Iris Keshane. Adopted brother Dez (Joy) Desnomie, Aunts Sally, Donna, Shirley, Merlene and Jane, Uncle Ivan and Ernie, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Special friends, Dion and Geraldine Starblanket, House of Prayer family and friends.
Fred’s walk with the lord started through a man named Don Schiach. Don shared, “When I first met you, I saw a rowdy young man, I seen a desire in you for something better. That’s why I never gave up on you and your family even though you turned me away a few times” He loved to read the bible and praise the lord with so much excitement and enthusiasm and because of his obedience in sharing the good news of God, so many people came to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior. He went to Eston in 1979 and graduated in 1982. When he’d come home during holidays and visits, he would have house services in Yorkton which became the Yorkton Christian Fellowship. Fred established Keeseekoose Full Gospel Church on August 19, 1982 until 1989. Fred moved to Yorkton and raised his daughters as a single father for 8 years and continued to pastor the Yorkton Christian Fellowship. Fred also had kids club for the children of the church. Travelled many places to sing and minister and always showed support for wakes and funerals of family and friends. Fred met his future wife in 1992 in Calgary, AB, they married in 1997 in Yorkton. He moved to Calgary in 2000, enjoyed the time he lived there until he moved back in 2015 to start pastoring the House of Prayer with his brother Frank, where he continued to pastor till the day he went home with Jesus. Fred loved to sing for the lord and God blessed him with such an anointing upon his voice that you could always feel the presence of God when would sing. He stuck to the word of God and taught many the best he could to fully trust God. He had so much influence on others to serve Jesus wholeheartedly.
Fred was an avid sports fanatic. He loved watching sports on TV; baseball, soccer, football and hockey; his favorite NHL team was the Calgary Flames. He enjoyed going to watch hockey games, especially when his grandchildren were playing. His favorite MLB team was the Atlanta Braves, also Canadian team Toronto Blue Jays. His all-time dream came true to watch Atlanta Braves play live in Toronto back in May. It made him a very happy man to be there in the sky dome. Fred’s favorite NFL team was the Minnesota Vikings. He also truly loved his cat “Pugsly”.
