Obituary of Phyllis LeBlanc
Phyllis LeBlanc was born in February 1942 to Henri Moyen and Lucille Plamondon. She was born the eighth of twelve children. Phyllis grew up on a farm in St. Front, Saskatchewan. She attended school in St. Raymond and St. Front.
In 1959, Phyllis made her way to Moose Jaw where she worked as a waitress. She then moved to Zenon Park in 1960, where she worked at the hospital as a nurse’s aide. Phyllis met Frank LeBlanc in 1961, and they married on July 7, 1962 in St. Front, Saskatchewan.
Phyllis and Frank moved onto the family farm, starting their married life together. During these years, Phyllis was instrumental in the successful operations of day to day life. She had many talents/passions as well: curling, gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, card playing, puzzle making and could operate a combine with great skill all while raising a family.
Phyllis had a passion for quilting, resulting in many intricate quilts being shared and gifted to those she loved. Her quilts continue to be a reminder of the love and care she sewed into each one. Phyllis spent a lot of time in her garden, harvesting her bounty, which was always generously shared with many friends and family.
In 2017, Phyllis and Frank moved to Caleb Village in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. Retirement at Caleb was the life for Phyllis, as she enjoyed the multitude of activities and amenities provided during her time there.
Phyllis and Frank raised four children: Michelle (Dave) McLachlan (1963), Nicole (Jean) Hudon (1964), Marc (Lisa) LeBlanc (1965), Gilles (Kyla) LeBlanc (1973). Over the years, the family continued to grow with beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren: Mandy (Matt) Fahr – Maverick & Madalynn; Mari (Shaun) Poohachoff- Kacey, Ryann, Joey; Misty (Jeremie) Marchildon- Sloan & Jaxx; Marla (Austin) Rediron; Celeste (Justin) Keller – Mila & Max; Luc (Ayesha) Hudon – Zahara; Chantal (Lindsay) Hudon; Presley (Charlene) LeBlanc – Presley Junior; Taylor (Kim) LeBlanc; Margo (Dorian) LeBlanc; Shea (Portia) LeBlanc; Téa (Nick) LeBlanc. In 1981, Danny Hudon (1973), son of Frank’s cousin, became part of the family for a few years. Phyllis loved each and every one deeply.
Phyllis was predeceased by her mom, Lucille Plamondon; her dad, Henri Moyen; her brothers Albert, Roger and Armand; her sisters Yvette, Rita (in infancy) and Germaine (in infancy), her sisters-in- law Jeanine Moyen, Carmen Moyen, Florence Moyen and Sharron Moyen; brothers-in-law Grant Mills, Joe LeStrat, Doug Nunn and Norbert LeBlanc.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Frank of 61 years; children Michelle (Dave) McLachlan; Nicole (Jean) Hudon; Marc (Lisa) LeBlanc; Gilles (Kyla) LeBlanc; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brothers Richard (Sherry) and Don; sisters Lillian, Fernande and Georgette; sisters-in-law Colette Moyen, Suzanne Nunn and Muriel LeBlanc; brothers-in-law Gilles Coupal and Peter Spizawka; as well as extended family and friends.
