Shirley Edmunds passed away peacefully on the afternoon of December 7, 2024 at the age
of 93 yrs old, at New Market Manor, Tisdale, SK where she resided for the past 4 years..
She was predeceased by her first husband William (Bill) Simpson, her son Willam (Bradley)
Simpson, her parents Alma and Edgar Mooney and brothers Donald Vernon, Lyle, Bryan and
sister Jean.
Her memory is carried on by her husband of 36 years William (Glen) Edmunds, her younger
brothers Vaughn (Dorothy) Mooney and Dwayne (Marcie) Mooney, sister-inlaw Fern
Mooney, daughter Wendy Simpson (Dale Morgan), son Farley Simpson, stepson Greg
(Mariann) Edmunds, stepdaughters Laurie (Miroslav) Jancewicz, Sharon (Kirk) Haylock and
Melanie Edmunds, eighteen grandchildren: Michelle (Mike), Alyson (Craig), Pamela
(Andrew), Cole (Stacey), Jillian (Dion), Catilyn (Cameron), Babe (Mitch), Geoffrey (Jill),
Michael, Danny (Sarah), Trinity(Michael), Garrett, Delaney (Adam), Christopher (Cindy),
Brianna (Mathew), Ashton, Claire and Paige. Fourteen great- grandchildren: Kinley, Rory &
Kane, Nate & Hayes, Gwen & Avery, Brady & Mason, Kaylnn & Amelia, Hazelynn, Noah &
Anistyn as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Special
mention to Paula & Glenda.
Shirley was born in Star City,SK. Throughout her lifetime she lived in Melfort, Saskatoon,
Souris, MB and Nipawin. Spending the remainder of her years in Tisdale and the farm at
Eldersley corner. She actively participated in community activities, watching sports, going to
fowl suppers and social events, treasuring her visits with each person she might run into
throughout the countryside.
She had a love for music, sang in the United Church Choir for many years; she and Glen
would travel annually to Hostfest & other nearby music festivals for many years, together
they watched several local performances and kid concerts where friends and family
performed.
Although not a big adventurer she enjoyed her travels: visiting family, going to the lake, bus
tours around North America, a trip to Hawaii, a tour to Portugal, Spain and Morocco, plus
countless trips with Glenn in the 5th wheel.
She loved her family dearly, and embraced them each with knitted blankets and other items
until she was no longer able. Had a great memory for not only songs but poems and
limericks and always enjoyed a good joke or story.
The family would like to thank the staff at New Market Manor for their care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place and her family will remember her with a private graveside
ceremony in the Spring.
