Carol Mary (Marxen) Yelland was born on January 10, 1944 at the Red Cross Outpost north of Caragana to parents William “Bill” and Mary Marxen.
Carol grew up on a farm north east of Porcupine Plain in the Capeau River district and attended the country school at Golden Glow. The family moved to Wisconsin and back a few times during Carol’s childhood. She moved to Wisconsin to finish her high school years and graduated from Clinton High School, Wisconsin. She moved back and worked at the Tisdale OK Economy for a year before she married the love of her life Herbert Percy Yelland on August 24, 1962. To this union they were blessed with their daughter Edith, and sons Neil and Chad. Carol was a proud housewife and homemaker that helped her husband Percy around the farm. They hauled grain and had animals such as goats.
Carol loved to work with animals, grew multiple gardens, fed many visitors who came by. She spent a lot of time sewing numerous garments, quilts as well as other items. Enjoyed entertaining and playing card games. In her spare time she enjoyed old time dancing and live music.
Carol is lovingly remembered and missed by her family: daughter Edie Naimi (Ghobad) and grandchildren Mona Naimi and Darion Naimi; son Neil Yelland (Donna Prosky) and grandchildren Cara Pratchler (Giles) great grandson Matthew Pratchler and Kendra Yelland; son Chad Yelland (Crystal) and grandchildren Edwin Yelland, Everett Yelland, and Elliott Yelland; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and many of her close community friends.
