Mary Klassen passed away October 28, 2023 to be with her heavenly father, with her family at her bedside, in the Pasqua Hospital in Regina at the age of 82 years. Mary was born October 29, 1940 in Springfield SK to Henry and Maria Wall. She attended Amphion School and attained a 10th grade education. Early years were spent mostly helping her mother out at home with the household chores and gardening while her father and brothers were out doing construction. She was baptized upon confession of her faith in the spring of 1959 before she was married. Mary met Abe, the love of her life in1957 and they were married in 1959. They moved into a small basement suite in Swift Current for the first 3 years of married life during which time their first son Wayne was born in 1961. After this they rented a small one bedroom house on Chaplin St and son Reynold was born in 1963. After about 3 years Abe built a new home on Winnie St and they had sons Brian in 1966 and Robert in 1967 and finally a daughter, Wanda in 1970. Mary was a devoted wife and caring mother but also proved skilful with a paintbrush, varnishing cabinets together with Abe, sometimes late into the evenings. At home she set a strong example of living a Christian life. She had a selfless dedication to her family and worked tirelessly to provide for them, cooking countless meals over the years. Special holidays will never be forgotten because of how she brought the family together around her table. Together they set a strong example of attending Church almost every Sunday. She stood strong for Abe and the family when Abe went through heart surgery twice. She was the rock and anchor of our family. She loved her flowers her garden and her puzzles. She was in relatively good health for her age until she had a bad fall at home this summer. It was not detected in the first tests that there was some bleeding in her head. When a later second scan showed that she had this condition, she had surgery to try and correct it on the 22nd of October. The surgery was sadly not successful and she passed away on the 28th of October. Mary is survived by her husband Abe; Sons, Wayne (Gayle) Klassen, Reynold Klassen, Brian Klassen, Robert Klassen and daughter Wanda (Lawrence) Forde all of Swift Current SK; Sister, Kaye Patzer; Grandchildren, Amanda (Micheal) Macfarlane, Stephanie (Jeremy) Roberts and Kimberly (Jeremy) Wilson; 5 beloved Great Grandchildren, Gunnar, Deborah, Benjamin, Jaxon and Hannah; and many In-laws, nieces and nephews and cousins.
