Obituary of Joan Verna Murdock
Joan Verna Murdock
September 7, 1935 – January 18, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan Murdock at Luther Care Home on January 18, 2024, at the age of 88 years.
Joan was born in Tilley, AB. Predeceased by her husband, Rae; her parents, Van and Verna. Survived by her son, Cameron (Devon) and his children Madisyn and Chase; her daughter, Jillian (Brian) Schneider and their children Samantha and Reed Schneider; and great-grandchildren, Mason and Violet.
Joan spent 28 years teaching elementary school, a career she was most proud of. Joan enjoyed an active social life; she took up golf after retirement. She enjoyed her time at Wakaw Lake and wintering in Mesa, AZ for about 15 years. Nothing made her prouder than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and all the staff at Luther Care Home for all the wonderful care Joan received while in residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the St. Paul’s Foundation or to a cause of your own choice.
There will be a Funeral Service held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Saskatoon Funeral Home.
