100 Years Old
Gertrude Elizabeth (Faber) Kinzel arrived at the family farm near Rosthern, SK November 17, 1923, to Carl and Anna Faber. She was the first born of twins. She grew up on the family farm and her early years were spent attending Kenmore School. She was baptized April 20, 1924, and confirmed on October 2, 1938. She married Alexander Kinzel on September 21, 1947, in Hague and had three children, Jeffery Kinzel, Roger Kinzel, and Kathleen Sawatzky (Kinzel).
First, she loved her grandchildren but when the great grandchildren came along, she was over the moon, they meant the world to her. She loved gardening and loved being a farmer. She was a cook at RJC, cook at Camp Kinasao, and then worked many years at the Corner Store in Hague. She loved to have impromptu wiener roasts with the grandchildren. Later on, she enjoyed going for coffee and grocery shop Saturday night with rollers in her hair.
For many years she would spend the winters in Mesa with her brother and sister.
Gertrude was predeceased by her parents Carl and Anna Faber, twin sister Viola, brother Carl, and nephew Grant Faber.
Ever celebrating this beautiful life her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
