Marlene Joanne Kovatch
February 26, 1956 – January 16th, 2024
With broken hearts, our family announces the passing of Marlene Joanne Kovatch (nee Yaskow) on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at the age of 67 years after a brief battle with cancer. Marlene was predeceased by her mother Ruth, father Lionel, father-in-law Andrew, sister-in-law Linda, brother-in-law Ron, and niece Jaycee. Those left behind to cherish her memories is her husband Andy, son Bryce, daughter Leah (Robert), granddaughter Ava, brothers Ivan (Laurie), Bryan (Cindy), and Kevin (Lisa); sister Kathy, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Marlene was born and raised in Regina and from an early age had a love for animals which turned into a passion that she shared with her husband on their farm near Edenwold. Marlene found joy in her farm ventures which included cattle and sheep businesses, a fondness to keep numerous birds, and a green thumb for gardening. Anyone who knew Marlene got to experience her spirit through endless entertaining stories about life on the farm. Marlene also showed love through her food, enjoying her career in the food service industry for almost 40 years. After she retired she enjoyed the peaceful life on the farm as well as camping and fishing with her husband; but first and foremost, she cherished her family very deeply. She loved her husband, kids, granddaughter, and dogs more than anything in the world.
Marlene’s endless devotion, passion, and fire will be missed dearly.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Regina Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit where Marlene was able to have peace. Thank you to the nurses Janice, Ashley, Sarah, Shawna, and Shannon (and many others) who showed such care to Marlene and her family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Regina Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Marlene’s loving memory.
A private viewing for family will be held and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Look For Me in Rainbows – by Conn Bernard
Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new.
Just look for me and love me,
as you know I loved you.
Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset,
when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me,
and I’ll be close to you.
It won’t be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you,
when we meet again.
Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in the rainbows, shining in the sky.
Every waking moment, and
all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me,
as you know I loved you.
Just wish me to be near you,
And I’ll be there with you.
