We lost one of the good ones today. Husband, father, grandfather, uncle and organic farmer. Gilbert Delmar “Honus” Wagner passed away after a brief stay at the Pasqua Hospital with his family by his side, at the age of 87.
Predeceased by parents Reinhold and Mildred, sisters Lorraine and Dodi, as well as nephew Terry. Gilbert is survived by his wife Lois, daughter Darlene, sons Brad and Mike, grandchildren Trent, Taylor, Kalin, and great-grandchild, Laiklynn.
Dad grew up on the family farm in the Craven district, attended Valley View School then Balfour Tech Hish School where he played and coached football. After high school Dad would go on to play for the Regina Rams and would coach with the Rams when they won their first national championchip in 1966. After working with Pell’s Teas & Coffees, he started his own business, Wagner’s Restaurant Supplies. Eventually Dad fulfilled his childhood dream of buying the ranch in the Qu’Appelle valley where he resided until his passing.
The family would like to thank everyone at Pasqua Hospital 3A who helped Dad during his final journey. Your efforts were greatly appreciated.
