It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of Debbie Fraser on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at her home in Regina, Saskatchewan. The void left by her departure is immeasurable, and the warmth and kindness she radiated are deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
Born on November 7, 1956, in Comox, British Columbia, to Edward Harold Fraser and Mary Angel Payne, Debbie, at 67, leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her sister, Lynda Fraser; brother, Reg Fraser; sisters, Dianna (Rob) Runge, Cammie (Frank) Rus, and Lucette Fraser; daughter, Terri-Lynn (Aaron) Snell; son, John (Brittany) Tokar; daughter, Paige (Joey) Erick; grandchildren, Breanne McGillicky, Jonathan Smith, Jayden Tokar, Jensen (Sam) Snell, Peyton (Tristan) Fiessel, Kaitlyn Snell, Kristopher Snell, and Terrance Smith; and great-grandchildren, Everlee and Rose. She was predeceased by her father, Edward Fraser; mother, Mary Payne; brothers, Edward Fraser Jr. and Cameron Fraser; daughters, Jennifer Anne Smith and Amanda Rose Tokar; and granddaughter, Macheala Anne Marie Tokar.

Additionally, she held a deep love for her extended family, including her numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and others, whose presence in her life brought her immense joy and warmth. Her Uncle Don (Carolyn) Fraser and Aunt Janet (Waverly) Stechyshyn held a special place in her heart, further enriching the fabric of relationships that meant so much to her. And Debbie’s love for her dogs, Teasha, Cooper, and Vinnie added an extra layer of joy to her life.
A dedicated nurse since 1987, and since retired, Debbie took immense pride in her profession and was very proud to tell everyone that her daughter Terri-Lynn worked in the health field, like she once did. Debbie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her presence was a familiar sight at hockey rinks, baseball diamonds, and football fields, where she passionately supported her children’s endeavors.
Her pride in watching her children play sports extended to attending Regina Thunder Football games, supporting her son John, and Regina Capital hockey games, supporting her daughter Paige, demonstrating unwavering support for her children’s sporting pursuits. Gardening brought her special solace, and she took great joy in adorning her home for festive occasions, earning her the reputation of having the best-decorated house.
