Conrad Kenneth Tuchscherer
1954 – 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Conrad Tuchscherer on December 5th, 2023.
Conrad Kenneth Tuchscherer was born on September 16, 1954, at Cabri, Saskatchewan.
Predeceased by his parents, Jacob John (Jack) and Blanche Maxine Tuchscherer (nee Syphers) and several siblings.
Conrad leaves to mourn, his wife and partner of 35 years, Simone Breault, brothers Bill, Gary, and Tim Tuchscherer. His sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Laurie) Walbaum, Joanne (Harvey) Smith, Denise (Doug) Corrin, Monica (Kim) Oltean, and brothers-in-law, Paul Breault, Car|(Cindie) Breault, Larry (Annette) Breault and Jerry (Elaine) Breault as well as many nieces and nephews.
Conrad worked at various restaurants in Moose Jaw including the National Café before finding his calling at Sarcan (Rochdale Depot) in Regina where he worked for 26 years. He enjoyed the interaction with his co-workers and supervisors. He looked forward to going to work each day even though he admitted that it made for a very long day when he had to get up at 4:30 each morning in order to catch the right buses to get to work on time. After earning several recognition awards, he decided to retire in December 2017. Because he was illiterate, he had to memorize information as he was unable to write it down for future reference, so he vowed to learn to read and write and to learn how to use a computer as he never had the chance to while he was young. His social worker, Sharon Morgan was instrumental in helping him to become involved in community classes and activities that would help his mind to grow and learn.
He learned to play solitaire and spent many hours playing it on the computer. Conrad also loved to play cribbage with the boys and listening to hockey and football games on the radio and watching the Regina Pats and the Saskatchewan Roughrider games on television. His favorite team was the Chicago Black Hawks and he kept track of all the scores no matter which teams were playing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada 222 Queen Street, Suite 1402 Ottawa, Ontario KIP 5V9 or online at www.heartandstroke.ca
