It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Timothy Johnstone on January 12, 2024 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Sask. Roy was born on September.15, 1963 in Birch Hills,Sk. He was raised on the family farm in the RM of Invergordon surrounded by loving parents, 10 sisters and two brothers, one of which was his twin brother Ross. Family was very important to Roy. He loved being able to visit with them and have coffee. Roy loved to hunt and fish, along with his love for Elvis Presley music. One of his greatest joys later in life was being able to go out to the family farm and help his brother Rocky farm whenever he was healthy enough to do so. Roy was very good at track and field in school and loved playing hockey. He enjoyed helping his dad out on the family farm which he said, taught him how to be a hard worker. In his earlier years, he worked in Tumbler Ridge BC in a mine, Peace River, Alberta and helping Les Skaar, Harvey Aadland farm. When his parents had Mom’s diner in Prince Albert, he worked there also. He spent many years building roads, all across the province until a work injury in the summer of 2001 prevented him from returning to work. Roy spent many years living on an acreage outside of Shelbrook, where he had several animals and worked for a couple of farmers also. He spent the remainder of his life in Birch Hills, Sask. In December 2016 he married the love of his life, Reneé Johnstone, and continue to reside in Birch Hills, Sk along with their puppies, Ranger and Dorrie. Roy had many health issues which prevented him from getting out and visiting as much as he would have liked this past year. He was able to go out hunting this past hunting season, which he was always looking forward to and watching many Trump Rallies. Roy said he would always fight until his last breath, and he did just that. The day of his passing the doctor at the hospital, came up with the word, “MARVEL”, to describe him, because of his strong will to live and the way he kept going. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Renee Johnstone, Daughter, Dezarai Black(Chris) their children, Mason and Noah, Sons, Brendan Melnyk(Katelyn Morgan) their son Tucker, Timothy Mohniger.
