Dorothy Helen Engele
March 17, 1945 – October 3, 2023
Dorothy was born to Roy and Sarah Harrower in Carrot River, SK. She grew up on the family farm, graduating from the local high school. She moved to Prince Albert in 1966 to work in the Government of Saskatchewan offices. In 1968 she met her future husband and lifelong partner Sheldon. They were married in 1972, and celebrated 48 years before Sheldon passed in 2021. Dorothy left the workforce afterward to build a home and raise her two children Kari (Cory and Quindelyn) and Tyler (Jodi). Kids sports, school activities, baking and sewing gave way too many hours of the quilter’s lifestyle later in life. Dorothy put family first. She was proud of the life she and Sheldon built, the children she had, and the grandchild she watched grow up.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Pine Grove Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Carrot River, SK. A time for fellowship will follow in Pioneer Place Hall, 1023 Main Street, Carrot River, SK.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729, Paula Hanson, Funeral Director and Mary MacWilliams.
