Arthur Auramenko Obituary
With heavy hearts and sadness, we announce the passing of our dearly loved Dad, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend on July 26, 2024, in Edmonton, Alberta. He was 85 years old.
Arthur David was born on the family farm in Sturgis, Saskatchewan on April 20, 1939, the eldest son of Mary and Dan Auramenko.
The characteristics that were part of Art his whole life were his vitality, his curiosity, his love of learning, his active mind, his love of nature, hard work, his love of the land and farming, his sense of adventure and spontaneity, his love of visiting, meeting and being with people. Art grew up in a small area, but also always believed in the big world beyond.
Art leaves behind his daughters, Michele and Renée, sisters Lilian (Walt), Judy (John), Jeanette (Gordon) and sister-in-law, Helen (Don), as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
Art was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Mary, his sister Anna, his brother Don, and nephew Jason.
A funeral service will be held in Sturgis, Saskatchewan on Friday, August 9th, 2024, at 1:00 pm in Sturgis Community Hall, SK-49, Sturgis, SK with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Sturgis Branch Library in Sturgis, Saskatchewan in Art’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
