Marion Jean Goodfellow

It is with deep sadness and a lifetime of memories that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Marion Jean Goodfellow. Marion entered into Heaven on Thursday, October 17, 2024 two weeks short of her 97th birthday. Marion was born to parents James and Marion Smith in Elfros, Saskatchewan on October 31, 1927.
Left to cherish Marion’s memory is her loving family: son, Gilbert (Diane) and their children: Kayla (Mike) and Vincent (Erin); son, Bruce (Shari) and their children: Ashlee (Josh) and Christine (Brett); son, Curtis (Roberta) and their son, Evan; daughter, Wendy (Brad) and her children: David and Robert (Jolene). Marion is also remembered by her eight great-grandchildren: Samuel, Eloise, Turner, Nessa, Owen, Noah, James and Addison.
Marion was predeceased by her husband, Russell (Dowie) in 1985; her parents: James (1965) and Marion (1982). Mom was also predeceased by her six older brothers: Bill, Jack, Bob, Clifford, Gilbert and Norman; as well as a great-granddaughter, Eva.
Mom was born in Elfros, Saskatchewan in 1927 and moved to Saskatoon at the age of 17 to attend Business College. She met and married Russell Goodfellow on May 7, 1948, Gilbert was born in 1950, Bruce is 1952, Curtis in 1956 and Wendy in 1958.
Mom and dad moved to North Battleford in 1966 and found a community they loved and were proud to call home.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the BUH, particularly the third floor staff for their exemplary care of mom in her final days.
A memorial service will take place on November 1, 2024 – 1:00 p.m. at Third Avenue United Church with Reverend Jo Ann Hills as officiant.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Marion Goodfellow can be directed to the BUH Foundation – PO Box 1358 North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Eternal Memories Funeral Service and Crematorium – Vanessa Macnab Funeral Director.
