Lillie Schultz Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Lillie Schultz, who left us on May 15, 2024, after a beautifully lived life of 94 years.
Lille was born in Hanley, Saskatchewan where her family farms to this day.
Lillie received her nursing diploma from Saint Paul’s hospital in Saskatoon, Sask. and then started her nursing career at the Nipawin Union Hospital where she worked in Obstetrics helping deliver many babies.
Shortly after moving to Nipawin she met her husband of 52 years, Harold.
Later she worked with Harold in the family clothing business, Harold’s and Schultz Department Stores. Lillie was also active in community with Kinettes, the Order of the Easter Star, and other projects such as assisting her husband Harold with the Shriner’s Rose Day in support of their children’s hospitals.
Lillie loved to laugh, and she loved to bake! Her family was the center of her life; always giving of herself what she could. We’ll especially miss her butter tarts, pies, cakes, cookies, buns, cinnamon buns, and apple strudel, all of which she made with her own loving touch.
She also had a love of knitting, knitting numerous afghans for family, friends, new babies, and lap blankets for nursing home residents. And she loved taking care of her home.
In later years she could often be seen driving her friends to health appointments in the city, delivering meals on wheels and volunteering at the nursing home and church with various activities.
Lillie was predeceased by her husband, Harold, daughter Ann, and her 5 brothers & 2 sisters. She is survived by her children: Tom (June), Richard, Cindy (Gerry) Graff and Terry (Henry) Seidlitz, son-in-law Willis Archibald, Grandchildren: Christopher (Deanne), Sean, Shaelyn (Kristoff), Nicole (Bryce), Jenna (Matt), Cassandra (Kris), Elliette (Chase), Madison (Kael), Henry, and Jack; 9 Great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
