It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brent Kendall Spicer announce his passing on Sunday, June 16th, 2024, at the age of 69 years. He was predeceased by his partner and best friend, Linda Mulligan; mother and father, Gwynneth (Briggs) and Ken Spicer; twin brother, Keith; and sisters, Roberta Bumphrey and Carol Spicer. Brent will be forever loved and missed by his two children, Amber Spicer and Dean (Alicia) Spicer; their mother, Darlene (née: Currie); brothers, Vic Spicer and Edward (Lynn) Spicer; his nieces and nephews; and Brent’s extended family, Shane (Joan) Falasca and their children, Montana and Jerico. He will especially be missed by his shadow, otherwise known as Spicker the dog. You would rarely see one without the other.
Brent was born in Moose Jaw, SK on December 20th, 1954. He was raised on our beloved East End where he resided for his whole life and where his children also call home. Brent attended Prince Arthur School and A.E. Peacock Collegiate. After leaving high school, Brent went on to work at Moose Jaw Heating & Plumbing where he learned and mastered his trade of sheet metal fabrication. Brent spent his career doing this trade, with his impeccable skills being highly sought after, especially when you had something vintage (old) that needed fixing. He was always there to answer the distress calls of many on those frigid winter days and nights when the furnace would go out, saying no was never an option for him. Brent eventually went on to retire from Midwest Efficiency Ltd. where he worked since its inception with his best friend Shane.
When Brent would have some time off, he enjoyed spending it with friends and family. He enjoyed having company over to the garage to watch a game and share a cocktail. Growing up Brent loved the game of baseball and continued to play well in to his adulthood. Brent loved his children and could be relied on to do anything they needed at the drop of a hat. Later in life Brent and Linda got in to camping. They would pack up the camper and the dogs and head off to some unknown, sometimes planned, destination.
Thank you to all of those who have sent messages, food, and condolences. Your thoughtful support has been very much appreciated.
Brent will be laid to rest in the family plot at Rosedale Cemetery in Moose Jaw, SK. A Celebration of Brent’s life will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make a donation in Brent’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
